“Beyond the Helmet” Scholarship
Every year, thousands of young people walk away from a fall, a hit, or a crash with an injury no one can see. A concussion doesn’t always show up in a mirror, but it can quietly reshape how a student learns, plays, or shows up for the people around them.
The new Jason Stone Injury Lawyers “Beyond the Helmet” Scholarship awards two scholarships of $2,500 each to students who can speak to that experience and help others avoid it. Our firm takes part in helmet giveaways and other safety programs across Massachusetts because we’ve seen firsthand how much of a difference prevention can make. This scholarship is our way of inviting students into that work and rewarding the ones who are already pushing for safer schools, teams, and communities.
Applications open December 1, 2026, and incoming and current students have until May 1, 2027 to submit their application for the team’s consideration. Jason Stone Injury Lawyers wishes all applicants the best of luck.
Application Requirements
Jason Stone Injury Lawyers invites high school seniors and current undergraduate students to apply for this scholarship. It’s open to students in any field of study, so long as the scholarship’s qualifying criteria are met.
Students must be accepted, or awaiting acceptance, at an accredited United States trade school, college, or university to qualify. Applicants must also agree to the scholarship’s terms and conditions and submit an application with all requested materials.
The requested materials include the scholarship form on this page and an essay between 500 and 750 words addressing the prompt below. Submit your essay as a PDF along with the form, using the naming format: “Beyond the Helmet Scholarship 2027 – [Student Name].”
Scholarship Essay Topic
The Jason Stone Injury Lawyers scholarship selection committee requests that you write an essay between 500 and 750 words tackling the following question for the “Beyond the Helmet” Scholarship:
Describe a concussion, head injury, or “invisible injury” you or someone close to you has experienced, and propose one practical way your school, team, or community could do a better job preventing it.
The team encourages you to go into detail about what happened, how it affected you or the people around you, and what specific change, such as a policy, a habit, a piece of equipment, or a training program, you believe would make a real difference going forward.
Tips for Writing an Essay for Jason Stone Injury Lawyers
When composing your essay, choose a title that reflects the theme of your work. Your essay should also include a header with:
- Your full name
- Your student ID number (if applicable)
- Whether you’re applying as a child of a Federal Employee or not
- The name of your academic institution of choice
- The mailing address, phone number, and email for that institution’s financial aid office
If you include quotes, add in-line citations and a bibliography.
Your essay should be entirely original and unique to you. The scholarship selection committee will not accept essays written by AI and passed off as original work. Inappropriate use of AI will result in automatic removal from the applicant pool.
Application Deadline
Students have until May 1, 2027, to complete their applications and submit them for the scholarship selection committee’s consideration. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.
Please allow up to three months for the committee to announce a winner. We ask that you don’t contact Jason Stone Injury Lawyers during this time, since the team can’t answer questions about an application’s status.
