Worker Seriously Injured in Boston Construction Accident

There are countless construction accidents that can happen everyday on a construction site; however, the Boston Construction Accident Lawyers with Jason Stone Injury Lawyers explain one of the most common mishaps resulting in workplace injuries is when an employee comes into contact with objects or equipment. In fact, the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates this type of mistake resulted in roughly 15 percent of all workplace fatalities last year.

Recently, a worker in Ipswich, Massachusetts, was left seriously injured after being involved in this type of construction accident. According to an article from WHDH 7 News, the incident occurred just after noon today on the side of County Road, or Route 1A.

Reports indicate the victim was hired to complete a sewage project and became trapped in a trench after the dirt walls of the ditch collapsed. Rescue crews were called to the scene and spent half an hour securing the dirt around the victim before being able to pull him to safety. He was then transported to a local hospital for further treatment to injuries sustained in the incident.

The accident leaves many workers wondering who is responsible for covering the costs associated with an on-the-job injury. Jason Stone and his team of Boston Personal Injury Lawyers state that employers are required to carry insurance to cover such expenses; however, the process of filing for and receiving these benefits can be complicated. That’s why the firm suggests anyone who is hurt on the job discuss their legal rights with an attorney.
