A 53-year-old Weymouth, Massachusetts, man was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident earlier this week. According to the Boston Globe, the accident occurred at around 11:20 p.m. Sunday along Quincy Avenue in Braintree.
Reports indicate that the motorcyclist was traveling in the right lane of Quincy Avenue when he began to approach a slower moving vehicle. The motorcycle then attempted to speed up and merge into the left lane in an effort to pass the slower car, but instead lost control of the bike and fell, skidding along the pavement before coming to a stop.
The biker suffered several serious injuries as a result of the Boston motorcycle accident, including serious head and neck injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.
Investigators with the Braintree Police Department are looking into what contributing factors may have caused the accident.
An independent traffic study, called The Hurt Report, concluded unsafe road conditions, such as uneven pavement or potholes, are responsible for causing numerous motorcycle accidents each year. This type of collision accounted for more than 25 percent of all motorcycle accidents. In some cases, agencies that maintain roads have been found responsible for causing these accidents.
That is why the Massachusetts personal injury lawyers with Jason Stone Injury Lawyers would suggest looking into your legal options if you have been hurt in a motorcycle crash that was caused due to someone else’s negligence.
