An 80-year-old woman was killed as the result of Boston Pedestrian Accident Injuries she sustained last month. Records show the accident occurred just before 6:30 a.m. at the corner of Stuart and Charles streets in the city’s theater district.
According to an article from WCVB News, the victim was attempting to cross the street at the intersection when a passing vehicle struck her. The impact of the collision left the victim with a serious head injury that required paramedics to transport her to a local hospital for further treatment. Unfortunately, the woman died a short time after arriving at the facility.
The incident highlights the need for pedestrians and motorists alike to be more aware of one another. The best way to achieve this is for both parties to always obey all traffic signals and to always look twice before entering traffic. Pedestrians are also encouraged to wear light colored clothing and carry a flashlight if they plan to walk during conditions with lower light. Motorists can also make their vehicles more visible to pedestrians by using headlights, even during the day.
