IIHS and HLDI: ABS on Motorcycles a Must

According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, motorcycles that are equipped with antilock break systems (ABS) are 31% less likely to be involved in fatal collisions than the same vehicles that do not have ABS. Furthermore, the Highway Loss Data Institute states a 20% reduction in the rate of collision claims for motorcycle riders whose bikes are equipped with ABS.

In 2008 and again in 2010, the IIHS and HLDI reported the decrease in collisions and fatalities with motorcycle ABS. Now, with several years of supporting evidence, the two institutes are formally petitioning the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for the equipment of ABS on all motorcycles.

The MA motorcycle accident lawyers with Jason Stone Injury Lawyers supports the motorcycle ABS petition as part of our commitment to looking out for the well-being of drivers.
